Our new bathroom - just renovated!

Here are some pictures of our just renovated bathroom. After I bought the new material, we took everything old out, and then worked for about one week.
I love it so much that I am doing a lot of my singing and reading in the bathroom. :)

Total cost: $1500

Material I bought:
Tiles: http://www.tileshoppes.com/
They have a lot of sales going on constantly. I got my wall tiles for only $60 include the mosaic tiles!

Bath tube, sink and faucets: http://www.rona.ca/project/~planning-bathroom-966_renovate-bathroom_projects
The sinks were on sale, I got each of them for $49.

Paint: http://www.generalpaint.com/interior_decoration
Since my Da Ma linda taught me about mis-tint 8 years ago, I’ve always looked for them at general paint stores. I could buy premium paint for one dollar per galon, and usually get one close enough to the color I want by mixing them. You will have a lot of fun discovering new colors and derive satisfaction from using up all those old cans of paint.

Sink cabinets: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/categories/departments/bathroom/20719/
I got it on sale at 25% off!

复活节贺卡

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
                                                                              John 3:16

The youth group hand made many greeting cards for seniors at my place last week.  We had a wonderful time together.

The red door and the reversible blazer

I painted my front door in red. We will build our outdoor kitchen soon. It is so good to be able to spend more time outside of the house!

I am also able to take some pictures outside now! The weather is great!
I got this reversible blazer from my dear friend Sissy. What a beautiful gift! The flower print  is made for spring. It always make me smile.

I love spring!

We declare the world as our canvas

This weekend, at our Art Club, we discussed about street art.

Street art is a kind of visual art practiced on the street. Our presenter showed us some street art pictures that he took from different places. We had an interesting discussion about street artists' motivation, locations and techniques as well as government's point view and restrictions. The presenter also showed us some work from the most famous street artists.

Whereas traditional graffiti artists have primarily used free-hand aerosol paints to produce their works, "street art" encompasses many other media and techniques, including: LED art, mosaic tiling, murals, stencil art, sticker art, street installations, wheat pasting, wood blocking, video projection, and yarn bombing.

Here are some pieces that I found amazing from the street art utopia. http://www.streetartutopia.com/

We can also apply this technique to indoor decoration and make our home a more interesting place to be.

If you are interested in street art,  a documentary film called "Exit Through the Gift Shop" is good to watch.
Enjoy!

GREEN Spring cleaning!

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.
                                                                        -Proverb

Today is 16 degrees. Flowers are blooming and birds are singing. Spring is finally here! I've got all my summer clothes out!

I've been thinking of a spring cleaning this week. My house and I need to get out of the winter blues! I already bought a mop with a squeeze mechanism.

This year's theme is GREEN CLEANING.

Here is my to-do list (how exciting this is!):

- Hang dry my laundry: install a clothesline in my backyard and enjoy the sunshine;

- Add more house plants as living air filters;

-Use unpaired socks fill with cinnamon sticks or cloves for my wardrobe;

- Cut and tear old cotton T-shirts into washable cleaning cloths and reduce paper towels;

- Use baking soda, white vinegar, oliver oil and lemon as my cleaning supplies;

- Sort my wardrobe and take out items that did not wear for more than one year;

-Organize a garage sale in my church for fund raising for our mission trip to PEI in June.
