Build me a son ---- Happy Father's Day!
At our church's youth group Roots, we have Care Sunday, which is the first Sunday of every month. We organize activities to show love and care to everyone in Roots. Sometimes, we have Bible story acting. John has been doing a great job in leadership recently, in organizing acitivities and acting.
He's finally made up his mind and he will be baptized in August in the lake! What a great news from God!
I am very proud of him!
“Build me a son, O Lord,
who will be strong enough to know when he is weak,
and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid;
one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat,
and humble and gentle in victory.
Build me a son
whose wishes will not take the place of deeds;
a son who will know Thee…… and that
to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge.
Lead him, I pray,
not in the path of ease and comfort,
but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge.
Here, let him learn to stand up in the storm;
here let him learn compassion for those that fail.
Build me a son
whose heart will be clear,
whose goal will be high,
a son who will master himself
before he seeks to master other men;
one who will reach into the future,
yet never forget the past.
And after all these things are his,
add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor,
so that he may always be serious,
yet never take himself too seriously.
Give him humility,
so that he may always remember
the simplicity of true greatness,
the open mind of true wisdom
and the meekness of true strength.
Then, I, his father will dare to
whisper, “I have not lived in vain.’”

A dialog with the world ---- From Anne of Green Gables
A passionate young orphan named Anne grew up in a small community in Prince Edward Island, that is the beautiful musical play that we watched during the weekend.
Adopted by the seem strict but loving mom and a caring, patient and shy dad, Anne had a lot of space for her adventures spirit. She is a very talkative and courageous girl. Along the way of growing up, she encountered some difficulties as every girl does, - people criticized her and disliked her, rumors spread about her anger issue, she made some mistakes just as other nauty children,... but, above all, she was loved and protected by her parents, and she had a great success in gaining people's respect at the end,
I enjoyed the musical, loved the stage design and the delightful melody in the play. It is a highly recommanded show for students and parents to spend some quality time together.
